F.E.A.R. Trilogy

First person shooter with injections from Japanese horror cinema. F.E.A.R. has been marketed with having intelligent A.I. from the enemies, but this turned out to be average to be honest.

It’s a straightforward campaign of hunting down Alma, a psychic girl. Repetition would happen as enemy design would become numb. The scare factor considers of in your face pop up moments towards more psychological ones such as blood dripping from walls. However, there wasn’t anything memorable or original as far as I remember.

First Encounter Assault Recon or F.E.A.R. is above average, but I never understood it's hype.

Rating: 7.2

The core gameplay is intact in this sequel, as the smart A.I. returns that will obstruct you using the environment, Alma is present, as are various new scares used as hallucinations. The melee and slow motion combat also return.

As the subtitle hints, the origins of the project are delved into deeper, conspiracies and betrayals are happening, and the run and gun play is perhaps even more faster paced than before. It's more of the same as you would expect.

Rating: 7.2

Similar to Dead Space 3, F.3.A.R. introduces co-operation and offline multiplayer with various modes included, but similarly, it also is the final installment in the trilogy. You can also play with a new character that has telekinesis, mind control and other psychic powers.

Despite being visually dull and not memorable, as well as the lack of scares being disappointing, it still remains a solid first person shooter if you are looking for that, with some horror elements playing out in the background.
