Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side

What is a fighting game other than Mortal Kombat doing here in the month of October?
If you happen to watch this video, you too will understand.

Eternal Champions, and essentially it's semi sequel Challenge from the Dark Side, are Sega's answer to Midway reigning bloody fighting game Mortal Kombat during the 90's. What they really share together are finishing moves.

Fatalities are how they are called with Mortal Kombat, but with Eternal Champions, they are called Overkills, and if you just watched the URL, then you can easily argue that the deaths are on par, if not more graphic than anything else, at least with 16-bit.

Other than this connection, Eternal Champions happens to be an average 2D fighting game, although one that has enough variety with it's settings, it's playable characters and movesets, walking from all sorts of lives, time periods and era's.

The story apparently only involves protagonists, but it's ironic if you consider the Overkills and the general violence. There are also Cinekills rendered in full motion video, but they feel outdated by now. Anyhow, give this one a chance, you might be surprised by it.
