It Follows

Labeled as a scary horror movie by many, that is not really the case for me, but rather, the plot is something quite different.

People who are passed on the sexual curse in this movie are followed by a supernatural force that can shape into any kind of human figure until they catch the carrier and kill them in various ways. It's not like a walking zombie, but more like an entity only seen by the one carrying the curse.

Transmitting the curse goes through sexual acts, and the monster can shape consecutively for a better surprise element. Seeming as teenagers occupy the cast, I wasn't impressed by anyone in the acting aspect. Combined with some stupid writing or actions done by the characters in order to deal with the entity, that did not help last an appeal to me either.

Still, It Follows is an original horror story with a very aware soundtrack and good shots, but in essence there’s not really much happening, only a lot of walking. It’s a low budget with few effects or memorable moments, and it's premise can be considered the only true good part.

It certainly could improve with a sequel in this case.
