The Sense of Joy

Humans are different in countless aspects, most notably by their biological functions. When it comes to what we all like to do, regardless of study and work enjoyments(not all of us are gifted with these), the sense of joy can be either vast in numbers, or minor but concentrated.

But the actual sense of joy I really wanted to point out is those moments in life where you just can feel the excitement drooling out of your mind and your body, letting you smile with all of the harmony intended towards whatever triggered that feeling.

Joy might be my favorite state of mind, but it's such a collection of countless different emotions, and when combining that with the hobbies and interests of other humans, the possibilities for the sense of joy are endless and limitless.

Examples I can give are when I am daydreaming about upcoming or future travels, going through all of my knowledge towards each country and imagine either myself experiencing it, or as someone else living there.

Or when I attended my latest esports tournament last saturday called Avalon III, a new series of mainly Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl competitions. The actual sense of joy here isn't necessary winning or losing, but for me it's experiencing those matches which are the closest and the most intense.

On a side note, this tournament was the first since 6 years after hosting The Balance Tournament back in 2008. The reason for returning towards this was various, but it included tasting the atmosphere again, seeing old friends/rivals and observing how high the competition had been raised this time.

Feel good movies, or slice of life and comedy genres are great when you really want to feel happy if you can relate to the characters and the story. However, other genres such as drama, thriller and horror can make you feel joyful perhaps for it's writing, perhaps for appreciating the fantasy, or perhaps for being glad that you don't have to go through life like that certain character.

The sense of joy is of course to be found within friend groups as well, but as for me, the humor to be found can be quite different with each group. I'm also of course glad to have a pretty normal family, although we all have our crazy sides at times.

The more I type about this feeling, the more I notice that even for someone like me, appreciating something, or feeling happy about something else can be so different each time, that it's rather hard to summarize it in simple terms.

Just try to remember those best moments of your life, as they are probably and most likely most of the time the long lasting memories(thanks to the joyful emotions accompanying them) which deserve to be remembered and treasured.

And if you have a difficult time remembering awesome memories, please, for your own sake, write, photograph, store or do anything else in order to remember them. Just like I am doing with Flok Factory partially when writing about stuff, you should do the same. Think of it as a very special kind of insurance.
